Stickman Hook

Stickman Hook

by Madbox
Stickman Hook is a fast-paced skill game where you control a stickman that flies through the level by using a grappling hook to swing from point to point. Use each swing to build up enough speed to push yourself forward.

About Stickman Hook

In Stickman Hook, each run lives or dies on how cleanly you time your swings.

Grab a hook and let go at the right moment to carry that movement into the next swing. Most runs end in under 5 seconds, so restarting feels so tempting. What's one more round anyway?

This stickman game is a Poki exclusive that has almost 6.5 million upvotes, thanks to simple controls and runs that always make you want one more go.

How to play Stickman Hook

Stickman Hook is easy to start but getting good takes practice. There are only 3 basic things you need to master in Stickman Hook:

  • Tap to attach your rope to a hook.
  • Release to launch forward.
  • Use bouncing pads (the spring platforms that launch you upward or forward) to change your position and line up the next swing.

Releasing even half a second too late usually kills your forward speed, turning a good swing into a straight drop. When a run clicks, you clear the level without thinking.

Here is how this is done on both desktop and mobile:

  • Desktop: Hold a mouse click or press spacebar to attach, release to let go.
  • Mobile: Tap the screen to attach, lift your finger to release.

Game modes

There are 2 game modes in Stickman Hook: classic mode and grapplehook mode. Grapple Hook mode unlocks after you complete 30 levels in Classic mode.

Stickman Hook skins

Stickman Hook includes 23 skins that let you change how your stickman looks as you play. Skins don't affect gameplay, but they give clear goals to work toward as you progress through levels.

  • Level progression skins: There are 9 classic skins, with 8 unlocked through progression. After every level, a progress bar shows how close you are to the next one.
  • Watch ad skins: There are 14 skins to unlock here. Some fun skins like the Burger, Cactus, Dragon, Lemon, and Robot stickmen, unlock by watching short videos.
  • Weekly skins: These limited-time rewards appear on the home screen and rotate every week. Make sure to check back regularly for new skins.

Tips to swing further in Stickman Hook

Most failed runs come from the same small mistakes. These 4 tips will get you past where you're stuck.

  • Release before the peak: Letting go at the top sends you straight up, stopping you from moving forward. Releasing slightly earlier keeps you moving and sets up the next swing cleanly.
  • Don't hold after a good swing: A good swing can trick you into staying attached too long. That extra hold often puts you too high or slows you down for the next swing.
  • Skip hooks when you're already moving: You don't need to grab every hook. Skipping one will avoid awkward resets, like dropping straight down or losing all your forward speed.
  • Use bouncing pads to change your setup: Bouncing pads can push you forward or up when you are holding on to a hook. Build forward movement by bouncing back and forth, then release at the right moment to clear a level in one move.

FAQ

Is Stickman Hook hard?
Yes. Stickman Hook is hard because each swing puts you in a new position, and poor releases make the next move harder to control.
Does Stickman Hook save your progress?
Yes. When you play Stickman Hook on Poki while signed in, your progress is saved automatically.
How many levels are there in Stickman Hook?
There are hundreds of levels designed to test swing control and momentum carry-over.
Why do I keep falling at the same point?
This usually happens because a bad swing earlier puts you at the wrong angle. One mistake affects the next two or three swings, which is why restarting often feels like the right call.
